Privacy Policy

We want you to feel comfortable recording your life. This policy explains what DayWave processes, why it is processed, and the controls available to you.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the DayWave apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, along with the related sync service. DayWave can be used entirely on-device. Information is sent to our sync service only when you choose to create an account and enable sync or Growth Partner features.

DayWave does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps, and does not sell personal information.

2. Information we process

On-device information

Your completed-action entries, dates, project assignments, growth data, app preferences, and local profile image are stored on your device to provide recording, search, recap, and personalization features.

Optional account and cloud sync information

If you create a sync account, we process your account name, optional display name, password stored as a salted one-way hash, login session identifier, and a device identifier used to distinguish sync sources. To keep your devices consistent, we also process entry text, dates, project assignments, deletion states, and modification times.

Optional Growth Partner information

If you connect with a Growth Partner, the sync service processes invitation codes, the partner relationship, and a growth summary: five attributes, active days in the last seven days, current streak, and update time. Your avatar or activity information is shown only when you choose to share it.

Purchase information

Apple processes the app purchase and download. DayWave does not offer in-app purchases and does not receive or store payment card details.

3. How information is used

  • Save, organize, search, and display completed-action entries on your devices;
  • Group related actions and generate project progress, weekly recaps, growth attributes, and achievements;
  • Sync information across your signed-in iPhone, iPad, and Mac;
  • Provide Growth Partner features that you choose to enable;
  • Protect account and sync-service security;
  • Respond to support requests, diagnose issues, and comply with applicable law.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not share your information for advertising. Information may be processed or disclosed only in limited circumstances:

  • Growth Partner: only the growth summary and avatar you allow are displayed. Original entry text, project names, and calendar content are never shown to your partner.
  • Apple: purchases and downloads are processed according to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
  • Law and safety: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.
  • Business changes: if a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer occurs, the recipient must continue to honor this policy, and we will provide notice when required.

5. Storage, retention, and security

The sync service uses HTTPS for transmission. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, and session tokens are stored as hashes. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to reduce unauthorized access, loss, and misuse, but no transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

On-device information is generally retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Cloud account and sync information is retained until you permanently delete the account in the app. When deletion is confirmed, the account, login sessions, synced entries, project assignments, Growth Partner relationship, invitations, and growth snapshots are immediately removed from the service.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Use DayWave entirely on-device without registering an account;
  • Choose manual or automatic sync and sign out at any time;
  • Edit or delete entries and correct project assignments in the app;
  • Disable avatar or activity sharing, or disconnect a Growth Partner immediately;
  • Permanently delete your account and related cloud data from Settings → Cloud Sync;
  • Contact us to request access, correction, or export of cloud information.

Deleting the app does not automatically delete information already synced to the cloud. To permanently delete a cloud account, sign in and select Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete Account, then complete the in-app confirmation.

7. Children

DayWave is not directed to children under 13. If your region requires a higher age of digital consent, use the service only with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. If we learn that information from a child was collected unintentionally in violation of an age requirement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as features, laws, or security practices change. If a change is material, we will provide notice through this page, an in-app message, or another appropriate method and update the effective date above.
